For realsies tho, I am awful and probably won't push myself to play for a while, but instead learn to ref (I do so love to herald), but we do need sponsors and shit to get gears, so if any of you know of any good ideas, holler!

Hey Belegrim,

Mistie and I are working with local girls in Champaign Urbana to start up a roller derby league. We are working on getting sponsors to help cover costs of gear and facilities, but right now things are still in the early stages so any input any of you may have would be appreciated. We're offering sponsors things like ads in our bout programs, announcements, etc., and are also toying with the "Adopt a Derbista" idea, where for $250 you can sponsor a girl to get her gears and she would wear your logo. Another idea is "Booty for Bucks" where for individual bouts, the girl would advertise your company on her tushie.

SO! All in all I'm looking for constructive feedback and ideas as well as any info about people/organizations that would sponsor us (or you can just PayPal me money ;P). Our group is non-profit, so any additional money that we would raise would go back to the community. We are also showing our support for local groups by coming out in force to charity events (for example, Saturday we're hitting up a show that benefits a women's charity for sexually abused women).

So leave your negative comments to yourself and help us brainstorm, this sport is full of creative types, so come out of the woodwork and help us out!

This is a pretty cool idea. I would love help you guys out. So is it like any size donation or is it a specific amount you need per person? Anywho when I get my refund check for this semester I will set some monies aside for ya

We're working out details, but a lot of us went ahead and got skates and such, so donations would go toward renting rinks and stuff like that. I'm sure that I could make some HH spanky pants for uniforms if y'all made a good donation.

Where can I send in some $$?
